Nice work. I'm not surprised the wood brined as much as it did. When you try to cut 1/4" material (the max you can cut on our lasers) you will run into this. Wood will defnitely char and burn, and thicker wood will really char and burn. You might have better results with a dark acrylic for the comb pieces.
The design really works and I like the documentation.
