What is a Namespace?

russell 7y, 144d ago [edited]

A Namespace is a "container" for all the threads related to a site. A User may moderate and/or own none or many Namespaces.

From the Namespace Settings dashboard an owner may control how Remarkbox looks and behaves.

For example:

  • force all new comments into moderation before displaying them
  • upload or link to a custom style sheet (CSS)
  • disable the "Powered By Remarkbox Logo" in the thread footer
  • moderate any comment in the Namespace (e.g. edit, allow, deny, delete)
  • enable add-ons (e.g. MathJax)
  • enable Slack notifications
  • download all comments from the Namespace for backups or exporting into a new system

You may navigate to your Namespace Settings by going to:

https://my.remarkbox.com/

From there you should see a list of Namespaces or click Setup to create a new one.

Where does Remarkbox pull the avatar from? Is it gravatar?

By default the avatar is built in using the first letter of the user's display name. A user may toggle to gravatar from their user settings page to use that instead.
